Dr.
Mazuz
was raised in Jerusalem, Israel. There he
did his
undergraduate work and later received his medical degree
from Hadassah Medical School, Hebrew
University, Jerusalem, Israel. His Rotating
Internship was at Barzilay Medical Center,
Ashkelon, Israel. His postgraduate training
included Internal Medicine Residency at The
Brooklyn-Cumberland Medical Center,
Brooklyn, NY, and The University of Iowa
Hospitals, Iowa City, IA, where he was a
Cardiovascular Fellow.
"Though generally in cardiology we
don't cure patients, it is one of the fields
in medicine (unlike surgery) where we can
make a great difference in the outcome and
prognosis of the disease.
Laypersons need to know that good cardiac
care can turn a potentially deadly condition
into being one with which patients may
expect to live many good, productive years."
