Dr. Robert E. Shapiro joined Berks Cardiologists, Ltd. in 2002. He is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Internal Medicine, as an Authorized User of Radiopharmaceuticals, and as a Medical Examiner.

His sub-specialties include:

  · Transesophageal and Stress Echocardiography

  · Nuclear Cardiology

Dr. Shapiro received his undergraduate degree in biology from Pennsylvania State University, University Park, PA, and his medical degree from Temple University: School of Medicine, Philadelphia, PA. His postgraduate training included a residence in Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York, NY, and Weiler Hospital of the Albert Einstein School of Medicine, Bronx, NY. He served fellowships at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, New Hyde Park, NY, and Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York, NY. He was an Assistant Professor of Medicine, Department of Cardiology, SUNY Stony Brook University Hospital, Stony Brook, NY.
